Any type of engineering work requires an appropriate set of accompanying facilities that enable the operation or that improve the performance. In an ordinary house the standards plants to be designed are those electric, water, sewer and heat. These are called civil plants and as the name suggests include shelter. A second type of installations instead, the industrial ones are in support of the industries.
